I am noticing it more and more as I have progressed through the game - Paladin threat needs help! At first I thought maybe I was just missing something but after speaking with some others I feel this is a fairly common feeling amongst paladin players.
The only possible way I can hold threat right now is by using the epic clicky for the added DPS, and it is still getting more and more difficult even with the clicky to where I feel like at some point I will have trouble holding threat over anything. This completely removes the ability to use Divine Purpose for tanking difficult mobs as well.
Right now on a big pull I pretty much can just blow righteous fury and hope to god vizel/divine might is enough cause there is a pretty good chance it wont be, even for just healer aggro.
My possible solutions(Disclaimer: There may already be additional modifiers on some of the things listed below, in which case just increasing the modifier could work. I am not trying to poopoo anything. I just hope to get Paladin threat in a bit better spot):
1) Extra threat modifier on Crusader Stance - this would also affect SKs I think? and I know nothing about SKs so maybe not the best idea
2) Extra threat modifier to Divine Purpose - if it is big enough we could still use this instead of the epic clicky, but in the event we still wanted the extra dps while tanking this would not be enough either.
3) Extra threat modifer to Divine Might - every tanking Paladin will be using this in end game. Would be an easy passive way to increase their threat. Could also promote more use of the single target undead ward in dps situations and cause you to be cautious with it when other tanks are present
4) Extra threat to casted spells - maybe flame of light or stuns - I know they already have a modifer and are meant for this purpose, but it is not enough, and right now I would debate that the time spent casting some of these is already a threat loss for missing out on the procs from the epic.
My *ideal* solution would be #1 or #3 as that is completely passive and I would have to change nothing with my style of play. #4 would be my next in line with #2 pulling up the rear as I would prefer the choice to go back and forth between epic clicky and divine purpose for DPS/Survivability purposes opposed to pure threat purposes.
I do not care what the solution is as long as it works. I was just throwing out some ideas I had as possible solutions.
